Psychology assessments focus on understanding how a persons’ brain works, how they learn and how they interact with the world, including strengths, differences, and support needs.
I offer a variety of assessments to help clarify a persons neurotype, inform supports at home, school and the workplace, provide a cognitive profile evaluation or functional capacity assessment for school or NDIS planning.

We offer a variety of different assessment types. These include (but are not limited to):
Autism Assessments
For children aged 5 - 12 years
Helps to identify if your child or young person is on the Autism spectrum. Assessment includes:
screening tools.
comprehensive background history.
Specific observations and interview with child or young person.
comprehensive clinical interview with parents or carers.
additional tools based on presentation.
Input from school/ preschool.
ADHD Assessments
For children (aged 5+) and adults.
Brief and comprehensive assessment options available.
Both brief and comprehensive ADHD assessments include:
Screening tools.
Comprehensive background history.
ADHD-specific structured clinical interview.
Feedback session and report with recommendations.
Comprehensive ADHD assessments also include:
Cognitive testing.
Attentional measure.
Additional tools based on presentation.
Input from school and/or workplace.
Learning Assessments
Children (aged 4+) and adults.
Identifies specific learning differences and supports educational planning and supports.
Includes:
Interview and history-taking.
Cognitive and academic testing.
Additional screening (as appropriate).
School collaboration and teacher input.
Feedback session and detailed report with learning profiles and practical strategies..
Cognitive Assessments
Children (aged 6+) and adults.
Provides insights into cognitive strengths and challenges.
Includes:
Clinical interview.
Cognitive testing using Wechsler scales.
Assessment of adaptive functioning.
Additional screening tools (as indicated).
Liaison with schools and relevant professionals.
Feedback session and written report with individualized recommendations.

No, you do not need a referral to access a learning, cognitive, ADHD or autism assessment with a psychologist. You are welcome to self-refer for an assessment at S Scott Psychology.
Some clients choose to involve their GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist, particularly if they are seeking Medicare rebates, medication support, or ongoing medical care. This can be discussed as part of the assessment process, and collaboration with other professionals can occur where helpful and with your consent.

Prices start at $1500.00 and vary depending on the assessment tools used and the duration of an assessment.
Payments are usually made across 4 installments starting with a $200.00 deposit.

Step 1 Contact us

STEP 2 Complete questionnaires
Online questionnaires are completed by family, the individual and/or school.
It is also useful to share any school reports or previous assessments with the psychologist via email.
No additional charge.
Step 3 Initial Interview
The Psychologist will ask a series of questions about the individuals history, development, abilities, strengths, challenges, previous interventions and areas for support.
Duration 1 - 2 hrs approx.
Pay first installment.
Step 4 Assessment Session
The individual will attend an in-person session with the psychologist who will complete observations, ask any follow-up questions and complete relevant assessment activities.
Accommodations including environmental adjustments, access to sensory tools and regular breaks are welcomed as needed. There is also an option to complete a second assessment session on another day if needed.
Duration: 2 - 5 hrs (dependent on assessment and break needs).
Pay second installment.
Step 5 Feedback and Report
Approximately 2 - 3 weeks after the assessment session a feedback session with the psychologist is provided online or in-person. In this session the psychologist will explain assessment results and offer recommendations for support.
Once final payment is made the psychologist will provide a copy of the written report.
Duration: 1hr

Absolutely! Therapy can be conducted via Zoom. Just mention this when first booking your appointment.

Your GP will assess whether you are eligible under the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme.
If you meet the criteria, your GP will prepare a Mental Health Care Plan and provide a referral. You can request that this referral be addressed to our practice.
With a valid referral, you may be eligible to claim Medicare rebates for psychology sessions. Currently, Medicare provides rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Just make sure you see your GP before your first appointment with S Scott Psychology so that you can access the rebate from your first session!

Yes, we see clients who are self-managed or plan-managed through the NDIS.

STEP 2 Complete questionnaires
Online questionnaires and intake forms will be emailed to you once you book an appointment. Please complete these to confirm your appointment.
Step 3 Initial session
(In-person or online)
The first session will focus on us getting to know each other. Usually I have a specific set of questions I like to ask to make sure I am gathering the most relevant information. However, I am happy to be guided by you and what you are most comfortable with.
This session also includes formalities such as consent and confidentiality agreements, discussing our expectations and goals and completing any relevant documentation such as service agreements.
Please note, for younger children, this first session is usually parent-only.
Step 4 Second session + onwards
(In-person or online)
The second session is focused on discussing the initial assessment and formulation. Together, we will devise a plan for our sessions moving forward, including session frequency, how we will know when we are meeting your goals and what we will do if things aren’t progressing as expected.

Therapy

A supervisor is a fully registered, experienced, psychologist who has been recognised and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia to provide formal, structured supervision to other psychologists and early career psychologists.
Supervision supports safe, ethical and competent practice, helping psychologists develop clinical skills, reflect on their work, and meet AHPRA and Board requirements through regular oversight and documentation.

As a board approved supervisor with AHPRA I provide clinical consultation, primary and secondary supervision to provisionally registered psychologists.

My standard fee is $200.00 per 1hr consult. However, I am open to negotiating different fee’s dependent on individual supervisee’s circumstances.
